Excerpted from Buzz Blog:

The Democrats have proposed the redistribution of wealth as part of the establishment of a true democracy. But, why, if this is such a great idea should we limit this redistribution only to wealth?

I, therefore propose the redistribution of other items to achieve equality:

1. All universities and colleges shall henceforth be named ” Ivy League” and all diplomas will be noted ” With Honors “. This way every graduate will be educationally equal.

2. Since some individuals start life with a higher level of intelligence, the CDC and NIH shall combine to immediately promote vaccines to lower the IQ of any person over 100 and raise the IQ of anyone under 100. This way, everyone will be intellectually equal.

There’s more if you wanna read it. Frankly, this guy is dumber than a bag of hammers.

First, the Democrats haven’t proposed a “redistribution of wealth as part of establishment of true democracy”. Dear Author, please show me where you uncovered this nugget of information. I missed that press release.

Second, almost everyone agrees that poor people can’t pay the same percentage in taxes as rich people. It’s a given. Even the Fair Tax crowd has a “government prebate” built into the system to lower per-capita taxes for the poor.

Third, other than income tax, all of our taxes are REGRESSIVE. These taxes hurt lower income homes disproportionately. ALL OF THEM. The income tax is the only one that tries to rectify this, and frankly, it does a pretty poor job at that. But it is an attempt.

Now we have Slapnuts in Winder, buying into the Hannitized notion that the income tax is income redistribution, and then he applies it to college and IQ and other things that are not remotely related and rather absurd to contemplate.

Finally, NO ONE LIKES TAXES, me included. Let’s lower ‘em, baby, and let’s do it quick. But if we have a RECORD deficit in the budget, how can we possibly lower taxes across-the-board? Someone is gonna pay it- either you and me, or our children. And since we shouldn’t (and can’t) raise taxes on the poor, and the middle class is burdened with stagnant wages for the past 7 years… what’s left? Corporations and the rich. And, they benefited handsomely under the Bush administration.

We should not not punish the rich, but we should demand a progressive income tax that balances our budget, protects our citizens, and provides for the necessary functions of government to continue: national defense, law enforcement, etc.

Below is a graphic from the Tax Policy Center, indicating the 2009 tax burden of each Presidential Candidate’s policy. What do you think makes more sense?
